David Field
David was born and bred in Eastbourne. He graduated from College in 1986, and was immediately recruited to work with his father ( Jabe Field ) at J F Construction & Son Ltd wich was founded in 1983 under the watchful eye of Stuart Hobden as his mentor.
In 2002, Jabe Field retired, since then David has been running the company succesfully with only a few changes to the team.

Teresa Field
Teresa is also from Eastbourne and met David in 2000 and they went on to marry in 2002.
Teresa works alongside David assisting in the day to day running of the company and also has the clerical and financial responsibilities of running the office side of the business and payroll.

Andrew Hobden ~ Head Foreman
Andrew has worked for J F Construction & Son Ltd since 2010, his experience is invaluable and is a key member of J F's team working very closely with David on many aspects of the running of the firm. He is in primarily charge of the day to day running of contracts and is well respected by other team members which makes for a happy team.
His patience is unquestionable when training other members of the team.
When he came to JF as a bricklayer Andy was keen to learn more and is now a fully acomplished groundworker making him our head foreman, a great all rounder.
Phil Bailey ~ Groundworks Foreman
Phil has worked for J F Construction & Son Ltd since leaving public sector work to join us in November 2006.
Phil's extensive knowledge of general groundworks, drainage and pavement works is second to none and makes him an invaluable member of the team.
He is a key member in training the younger generation coming through the ranks.
Phil is now semi retired, but still gives us 3 days a week.
Stuart Hobden ~ Groundworks Foreman
Years served ~ 40 on and off !
Stuart is now retired but often makes himself available for work when a contract takes his fancy.
His loyalty , knowledge and capacity to teach the younger members of the team is incredible. We value any time Stuart makes himself available to us.
Simon Weller ~ Groundworks Foreman
Simon has been with J F's team since 2004, Simon forms a key member of the team, working his way up from a labourer he has learnt key aspects of the the trade from the bottom upwards.
Simon forms part of our streetworks team performing highways repairs and Vehicular Crossovers alongside all aspects of our groundworks contracts.
Jack Chaffin, Bruno Grant, Trevor Hobden ~ Bricklaying Team
Trevor has worked for J F on and off for around 15 years but became a permanent member of the team in May 2008 and his son Andrew joined us in April 2009 and make up our father and son Bricklaying team.
Although Andrew has since gone on to learn the groundworks side of the trade also and is now our acting foreman.
Trevor prides himself on his knowledge of local Flintworks and Stone walling techniques.
Jack Chaffin, has been with us since 2018 is a key member of the team being our bricklayer he was brought on by Andy and Trevor Hobden and has been trained well.
From Garden walling to Building a House, no job is too big or small for our elite bricklaying team!!
JACK ~~ Although Jack's first interests were to be in solely in bricklaying , he now shows promise in all aspects of the trade. Jack is a fast learner, and having youth on his side, given the right training and time, he will be an invaluable all rounder in no time.
BRUNO ~~ Bruno came to JF in 2023 and has proved himself in the bricklaying team.
Samuel Field ~ All Round Improver
Sam is a key member of the team, achieving a distinction in his level 2 brickwork course, Sam is ready and eager to learn all aspects of the industry and is keen to discover more. He is David and Teresa's son and also shows an interest in the office side of the business at home , showing an all round interest in the industry.
Barry Wyatt ~ Skilled Labourer
Barry has to work hard and his role is a vital one in the smooth running of a succesful building company. He is much appreciated and valued. Barry is often part of the bricklaying team.
Bruno Grant ~ Skilled Groundworker / Bricklayer
Bruno Joined us in 2023 and brought with him his fun loving cheeky chap attitude, which is a breath of fresh air!That aside, he is a formidable groundworker and excellent at his work. Patio laying being just one of his many skills. We welcome Bruno and hope he is with us for a while to come.
